BEFORE AND AFTER GST !
Hi guys ! For the food lovers out there, did you know that we will face a big revolution in April 1st ? Yeah, the implementation of GST(tax on goods and services) is coming soon. Everything gonna NOT BE OKAY, for real ? A lot of restaurants now take their opportunities to survive in Malaysia. Most of us will not easy to escape from the TAX including the foods and beverages which we are consuming everyday. How do you guys feel about this ? If me, I am totally not Cool with it but to help the country become a better county in the future why not?
Back to the main title, The Manhattan Fish Market before and after GST - we were invited by them to do their new LOBSTERS food review and the explanation of how much the cost will rise after the GST for The Manhattan Fish Market restaurant.
A calculation for myself and might be useful for you guys after the GST.
If you are about to have around RM50 budget for any kind of dishes in THFM.
BEFORE the GST
EAT IN
1 Sharing platter cost about RM57.90 and thesub total is RM57.90. Add on with 10% service charge is about RM5.79 plus on with the 6% Goverment tax : RM3.47. The total is RM67.16 after the SST included - Rounding (+0.04) up you have to pay only RM67.20. The SST tax is around RM 9.26.
AFTER the GST
EAT IN
1 sharing platter with the same price RM57.90 the subtotal is same too RM57.90. The service charge is no longer available but as I understood that THFM replaces it with their restaurant charge - which the total for the restaurant charge is 10% : RM5.79 from the 1 sharing platter price. RM57.90+RM5.79 :RM63.69 Rounding up - (+0.01) = RM63.70 ( Not included the GST 6% yet )
After subtotal the price of 1 sharing platter RM63.70 + 6% : RM67.50.
The difference after GST RM67.50 - RM before GST RM RM67.20 = RM0.30.
Okay from my conclusion is no more SST : 6% and 10% but there is a restaurant charge even after the implementation of the GST. What do you guys think ? Is it getting pricey or lowcy. I think it's not much difference right still the same before the GST, but the calculation of it made my head blew up.
I hope my readers will understand the calculation before and after the GST, I couldn't stand any longer if you cannot understand it because I feel like I already weaken in my mathematics calculation -lols. All I know I just pay the SUBTOTAL everytime I dine in. heh.

I did spent my last FRIDAY The Manhattan Fish Market, Nu Sentral Level 4 around 7 PM. The location is strategic and easy access for tourists and Malaysians.
